Something New

On Monday night I was finally able to get back to Chamberlain to do a paint class with my Mom.
It was FUN. It was relaxing. And I will definitely be doing it again soon.
Plus I got to hang with my Mama and that is always a blessing.
And thanks to my friend Rachel who has these classes at her awesome little bistro, called Indulge. Her food has always been amazing and now she is offering something fun and different for people to get out and enjoy. And that is awesome. Especially in South Dakota, during winter. :)

Spring Storm

Just when things were starting to look like spring in South Dakota, we were hit with a Spring storm.
We would have much preferred to just have 3 days of snow. But instead we got rain, freezing rain, and then snow. The city of Sioux Falls and all of the surrounding small towns have had power outages for days and most of the big trees have broken. It is a mess. We were one of the lucky few who never lost power.
I can't say enough about the firemen (including my hubby), police men, and electric company workers who have been out dealing with the downed power lines for days now. I can't imagine how exhausted they must be! The Parker guys were pretty lucky, and didn't have nearly as many calls as some of the surrounding towns!

Liam liked to peek outside at the ice, but for the first time in his life didn't want to go out when he felt the cold and rain.

The rain/freezing rain started on Tuesday evening. And everything looked like this by Wednesday morning.

Layer upon layer of ice.

Luckily our trees that we have planted so far are still small and didn't break.

Definitely beautiful in its own way.

It started to snow off and on during the afternoon Wednesday. And by this morning we had snow covering all of our ice.

Liam had fun watching us take turns shoveling each day.

But the poor trees were even more weighed down with the weight of the snow.

When we first woke up today there was a blue sky for about an hour. Giving me hope that spring will come back and that this will have given us some much needed moisture.

So for now I am praising God for the blessing of moisture and praying for those who are still without power. Hurry back spring!! This girl is desperate for some sunshine, warmth, and the ability for my toddler to run free outside!!

Liam Moment

We loved waking up yesterday morning to the sound of Liam repeatedly saying "Uh uh uh uh oh". Over, and over, and over. Sometimes he gets stuck on the uh for a LONG time and sometimes he even forgets the oh. He hadn't dropped anything out of the crib. He was just laying there saying his new favorite thing to say for no reason what so ever. Love that little buddy.

Happy Easter

This year we got to celebrate Easter 3 times. First with the Masters family, then with the Leiferman family, and finally with the Dominiack family. We had full tummys and hearts when the weekend was over!
We are thankful for a Savior who conquered death, sunshine, and the love of our families.

Gotcha Day 2013

March 29th, 2013 was Liam's first "Gotcha Day". A day to celebrate the day that we brought him home. We decided to celebrate with lunch at Qdoba after Good Friday church service and then headed to the zoo! Liam loved the zoo. We plan on spending LOTS of time there this year. Especially since Grandma & Grandpa Masters spoiled us with a zoo membership for Christmas!
Cousin Gabe came to play and dye Easter eggs with us.
And of course we had some ice cream cake after dinner.
Bringing you home 1 year ago was the best day of our lives sweet boy. We will never forget what it was like to hold you for the first time. We love you to the moon and back sweet boy!
We are so thankful that God gave us you.
