Liam's First Pumpkin

Liam got to paint his first pumpkin on the 14th.
It went really fast and he had a blast.
We barely had time to take any pictures!

Here is the finished product with some stars added by Mama.

And of course Mama made a pumpkin...

And Grandma did too...

They looked so cute together on our deck...

Sadly after a run in with the sprinkler and a day of rain we realized that some of the paint was not waterproof.
I guess that just means we get to carve those same pumpkins next week instead of buying new ones!

A Perfect Fall Saturday

On Saturday the 13th of October, we had a perfect fall day. It was in the 70's and gorgeous.
My parents were in town so while my Dad and brother went hunting we took my Mom out for a day of fun. We had a delicious lunch at Johnny Carinos and then spent the afternoon at the Butterfly House and at the Palisades. Here are some pictures from our perfect day.

Get Well Grandpa

Last Monday, the 15th of October we had a very big scare. Papa Bob (Max's Dad) was taken by ambulance to the ER. After arriving there ourselves we learned that he was having a Bleeding Stroke. The next morning they did surgery and drilled a hole in his skull. They put in a drain to relieve the pressure. The pressure was not only causing pain, but also caused double vision and blurriness with his sight, tingling on his left side, and memory issues.
It was incredibly scary and we are so lucky to have him with us. Thankfully the drain is doing its job and we are seeing improvement everyday. He is doing occupational and physical therapy each day. His memory is getting much better. Tomorrow they plan on clamping his drain and then they will do a CT scan on Friday morning to see how his brain is doing without the drain. If it looks good he should get to go home soon!
We can't thank everyone enough for the prayers, visits, cards, gifts, snacks, and meals. They have meant the world to us. Although the last couple weeks have been filled with long days and nights at the hospital we have also had some of the best family time together that I know we will cherish for the rest of our lives. God is using this time and this situation in so many ways. We are counting our blessings.

Here is Papa Bob embracing his eye patch and just going with the whole pirate look. I especially love the earring!

Liam has been so good at the hospital. He brings so much joy to the other families in the ICU waiting room, which is very needed in a place like that.

Gabe has stopped by to see Grandpa too. These two boys are the best medicine for their Grandpa!

Papa Bob's sister and brother-in-law came all the way from California to see him. It made his day when they arrived. He just adores his sister. And so does Liam. She definitely has the touch with babies!

His brother and sister-in-law also came from Illinois which also brought him so much joy! Those Masters men sure are good with baby boys!

And I am not sure who enjoyed this nap more!

On Monday Bob finally got to leave his room and go for a walk!
We have to keep our eye on him though...because he is always stealing Liam's blanket!

He even got to go outside.
That made a world of difference. Fresh air is so good for the soul!

Liam colored for the first time when he made this card for his Papa. Keeping him from eating the crayons was no easy task though.

Today was colder so we just walked around inside the hospital and didn't stop outside on the terrace.

Liam loves spending all day with Grandpa at the hospital but it sure wears a little guy out!
Please keep praying for Papa Bob. We love him with all of our hearts and want him to get better SOON!

7 Months

My sweet baby boy...you are 7 months old now.
How did that happen? Where did my little baby go??
You can melt my heart in an instant and I am pretty sure that you know it.
Your daddy and I count our lucky stars every day, that you are ours.

You rode in a shopping cart for the first time recently. But I didn't have the shopping cart cover along so it only lasted a few minutes until you started trying to suck on things I just knew had WAY too many germs. :)

You love to stare at things and try to figure them out. You are going to be very smart.

You love to laugh and giggle with your Mama & Daddy.

You also discovered Uncle D's old tool set last time we were at Grandpa & Grandma Dominiack's. You thought it was pretty cool!

You are the light in all of your Grandparent's eyes!

You finally started crawling on all fours two days before you turned 7 months old. But you would still prefer to just walk everywhere. You get mad when I corral you like this and push with all your might to just take off on your own.

You are our laid back little dude.

And even though you spent your 7 month birthday in the hospital with Papa Bob you were happy as could be.

You still cuddle with your Mama. Nothing makes me happier.

And are happy no matter where or what we are doing.

Thank you Jesus for our precious little blessing!!
At 7 months you weigh 18.4lbs and are 28in long. You have 3 teeth now and might be working on #4. You make tons of new sounds when you talk now and it is so darn cute. When you reach for me or Daddy it melts our hearts. You have also figured out how to throw a fit when you don't get what you want. You LOVE to eat. And you are no longer ok when Mama & Daddy eat in front of you, unless we are sharing. You are a total people person and make friends with everyone who sees you. You bring joy to so many people! Happy 7 months little peanut!

Cousins

Cousins are the BEST.
And Uncles are pretty awesome too.
And here are two Uncles holding their fave nephews.

Liam loves his cousin Gabe. He has so much fun when he comes to visit.
Last time he was here we spent the day up at Grandma & Grandpa's.

Gabe sure loves his Uncle Max.
Can you see the resemblance here?

Gabe is such a cool dude in his Daddy's hat!

He teaches Liam lots of cool things.

At Grandma & Grandpa's there is always time for a game of catch.

And there are always lots of toys to play with.

Just look at how Liam watches his big cousin.
He sure does think he is cool!

These two are best buds...

And I know before long they will be causing lots of trouble together.

Liam loves fall and he sure loves his cousin!
