Lately

This dude was so excited to go watch some basketball this week.  

He was SO excited to watch our neighbor and some of his extended family play.

This boy has also started to love looking at the Atlas every where we go. His daddy is beyond excited. 

We have took Liam and the dogs out to run every chance we get. They SO need the fresh air and exercise. 

And Liam has been SUPER excited about this new "Planes" flight suit he got from a friend. 

And I have to say he looks pretty darn cute in it. 

January 26th

January has been a whirlwind. We have all been sharing a sinus bug. Which left us all with not even remotely close to enough sleep. (Last night Liam slept through the night and it felt like heaven). Add in a puppy that is house training and eats everything, new work projects, and construction in the basement; and things have been crazy. 

But this dude, with his smile and laugh always reminds us to slow down and focus on the One who has given us all these abundant blessings. 

Today was sunny and unusually warm again. So we took Chief on his first long walk on a leash. Nothing like wearing out the toddler and the puppy all at once.

And when we got back home Liam and I ran all around the neighborhood, burning more energy. And soaking up every last bit of that Vitamin D! 

January you have been rather easy on us this year. And we greatly appreciate it! 

It's Friday!

It's Friday! We enjoyed some sunshine and fresh air, AGAIN. 

We went to Scheels and played while Daddy found some new shoes for the gym. 

And Liam even got to sit in a monster truck while we were there. 

And I wore my hair up all day today. Since Liam has been able to talk he has asked me to put my hair down anytime I put it up. He has even be known to cry over it. No joke. And when I do take it down he tells me how much he loves me.  This kid, seriously! But today he had to deal with it. At one point I heard him ask his Daddy to make me put my hair down. I told him his wife will appreciate being able to put her hair up someday. :) I sure do love that sweet boy, with all his little quirks. 

Liam's World

Liam loves his castle. And I love watching and listening to him play. His imagination is in overdrive these days, and it is a blast to watch him play. 

Sunshine

Today I am thankful for sunshine. And these unusually warm January days. 

Mid Winter Crazies

We have a bad case of the mid winter crazies here. Liam has been fighting a sinus/cold thing for quite awhile. And that on top of being stuck inside most days has started to make us all a little crazy. Today I could NOT get him to play with anything for more then a few minutes. 

This tent from Grandma Doris was the only thing that kept his attention for more then a few minutes. And it still wasn't long...

Here's to dreaming of springtime! 

Sunshine & Fresh Air

Today was MLK Day so we got to hang out with daddy most of the day which was awesome. Liam and I started the day making banana muffins. He loves to cook and we love having him help in the kitchen.

Then after a beautifully LONG nap, we headed outside. It was 49 degrees and it felt fabulous. 

Of course Liam found the mud puddles. 

And ended up looking like this...

We walked with the dogs, he rode his bike, climbed snow piles, shoveled, pushed his lawn mower. Everything he could fit in, before we made him come inside. 

And coming in went about as well as I could have imagined. We are in the stage of full on, totally not acceptable, rude meltdowns. Not fun to go through and the consequences are not fun to go through with either. Parenting is no joke. Thankfully he calmed down quickly and we had a relaxing evening. 

Daddy has been teaching Liam how to play "war", which teaches him to recognize which numbers are bigger or smaller than other numbers. And Liam just loves time with his daddy. 

Now I am hoping all that running and fresh air makes for a good nights sleep!

Goofballs

These two goofballs got to go out for an ice cream cone today. And it was 40 degrees, so we rocked our spring coats and soaked up that sun! 

Almost 3

He got his haircut today. That always makes him look way too grown up. How is this little man almost 3 already?!

Fresh Air

We got to play outside. And it was fabulous. Much needed time for energy to be burned by the two year old and puppy. There is a rumor of 40+ degree days in our future. If this is true, my man will undoubtedly be rocking the shorts. 

Missing Daddy

We really miss Daddy when he goes away for work. 

In the words of Liam, "Daddy, come home." 

Even if you only left this morning and will be back tomorrow, we miss you terribly! A fabulous reminder to pray for single parents, military spouses, and other families where a parent is missed. 

"Swing Set" for Grandma

Liam worked very hard on his present for Grandma Deb's birthday. He painted an ocean sunset for her, so she can see the beach anytime. He was so excited to give her the "swingset" picture, as he kept saying. So sweet. 

He worked so hard on it. For a very long time. 

Mama added a palm tree to the scene. 

He was so proud and excited to give it to her at lunch today.
