Last Monday, the 15th of October we had a very big scare. Papa Bob (Max's Dad) was taken by ambulance to the ER. After arriving there ourselves we learned that he was having a Bleeding Stroke. The next morning they did surgery and drilled a hole in his skull. They put in a drain to relieve the pressure. The pressure was not only causing pain, but also caused double vision and blurriness with his sight, tingling on his left side, and memory issues.
It was incredibly scary and we are so lucky to have him with us. Thankfully the drain is doing its job and we are seeing improvement everyday. He is doing occupational and physical therapy each day. His memory is getting much better. Tomorrow they plan on clamping his drain and then they will do a CT scan on Friday morning to see how his brain is doing without the drain. If it looks good he should get to go home soon!
We can't thank everyone enough for the prayers, visits, cards, gifts, snacks, and meals. They have meant the world to us. Although the last couple weeks have been filled with long days and nights at the hospital we have also had some of the best family time together that I know we will cherish for the rest of our lives. God is using this time and this situation in so many ways. We are counting our blessings.
Here is Papa Bob embracing his eye patch and just going with the whole pirate look. I especially love the earring!
Liam has been so good at the hospital. He brings so much joy to the other families in the ICU waiting room, which is very needed in a place like that.
Gabe has stopped by to see Grandpa too. These two boys are the best medicine for their Grandpa!
Papa Bob's sister and brother-in-law came all the way from California to see him. It made his day when they arrived. He just adores his sister. And so does Liam. She definitely has the touch with babies!
His brother and sister-in-law also came from Illinois which also brought him so much joy! Those Masters men sure are good with baby boys!
And I am not sure who enjoyed this nap more!
On Monday Bob finally got to leave his room and go for a walk!
We have to keep our eye on him though...because he is always stealing Liam's blanket!
He even got to go outside.
That made a world of difference. Fresh air is so good for the soul!
Liam colored for the first time when he made this card for his Papa. Keeping him from eating the crayons was no easy task though.
Today was colder so we just walked around inside the hospital and didn't stop outside on the terrace.
Liam loves spending all day with Grandpa at the hospital but it sure wears a little guy out!
Please keep praying for Papa Bob. We love him with all of our hearts and want him to get better SOON!
